At Fairspace, we look back with pride and gratitude at the successful opening of “Niet Mijn Schuld” our art exhibition on victim blaming after sexual misconduct and violence. This exhibition, hosted at WORM, brought together a wide range of perspectives from people who faced disbelief, skepticism, or even unwillingness to help after their experiences. Curating these stories was an intense and confronting process, but all the more necessary. Yet, this represents only a fraction of the experiences that exist.

Everyone has the right to be themselves in public spaces. But public places are not safe for everyone, for example for women, LGBTIQA+ people, and people of color. Street harassment makes many people feel unsafe. The result? They adapt their behavior: they avoid certain places, walk faster, or sometimes even don’t dare to go out on the street alone anymore. This limits their freedom of movement, which is unfortunate. Bystanders often see what is going wrong, such as someone being harassed, but they usually do not intervene. Research shows that in 84% of cases where someone does intervene, the situation actually improves. Unfortunately, however, this only happens in 25% of cases. This shows that there is a big gap between what people can do and what they actually do.

At Fairspace, we successfully organized an exhibition that highlighted important social issues through art. This project brought together diverse stories and perspectives, creating a space for awareness, reflection, and conversation.

During my internship at DriveYOU driving school, I created instructional driving videos to enhance the learning experience. These videos combine clear visuals and informative content to help students improve their driving skills.
